Catholic school sites
Churches, halls and shared sites need diagrams that match how the campus is actually used
Catholic school campuses often share land with a parish church, hall and presbytery, and many run an early learning centre or outside school hours care on site. Each occupied building needs its own diagrams, oriented to where they hang, and the assembly areas need to work for a school day, a parish event and a weekend sports fixture.
Craig works with the principal, business manager and facilities staff to confirm exits, equipment and assembly areas for each building, then designs, prints and installs the full set. Diagrams are reviewed whenever the site changes, which on a growing Catholic school campus is often.
- Diagrams for classrooms, halls, chapels, canteens and ELC rooms
- Oriented correctly for every mounting point
- Assembly areas that work for school, parish and after-hours use
- Printed, framed or supplied as PDFs for your emergency plan
- Warden and extinguisher training for staff and OSHC teams

Interactive self-check
Is your evacuation diagram still compliant?
Six quick checks based on AS 3745-2010 and what Craig sees most often on WA sites.
Does every diagram have a "You Are Here" point that matches where it is mounted?AS 3745-2010 requires the diagram to be oriented to the viewer's position.
Are all current exits and paths of travel shown, with nothing that no longer exists?Blocked, locked or removed doors are the most common failure.
Is the assembly area shown correctly, including any temporary changes?Construction, transportables and new fencing often move it.
Is every extinguisher, hose reel, blanket and alarm point shown where it actually is?Equipment gets relocated during fit-outs and services.
Has the building changed since the diagram was issued?Extensions, new rooms, demountables or a changed use of space.
Is the diagram legible, with a legend, and mounted at the right height?Faded prints and missing legends are non-compliant.

Common questions
Straight answers grounded in AS 3745-2010 and WA workplace legislation. Anything else, call Craig.
Are Catholic schools covered by AS 3745-2010 in WA?
Yes. The standard and the WHS (General) Regulations 2022 apply to all workplaces and facilities occupied by people, including independent and Catholic schools.
Does the parish church need its own evacuation diagram?
If the church or hall is used by the school or by the public it should have its own diagrams, oriented to each entrance. CMG can include these in the school set.
Can you work around term dates and Mass times?
Yes. Site visits are scheduled around the school calendar and installation is usually done in a single visit.
Who is responsible for the diagrams at a Catholic school?
The school as the person conducting the business, usually through the principal or business manager, with the Emergency Planning Committee responsible for keeping them current.
