Evacuation Diagrams in Bunbury and the South West

From Bunbury and Australind to Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River, the South West has a dense mix of schools, early learning centres, wineries, accommodation and light industry. CMG travels to the South West to survey, draw and install evacuation diagrams to AS 3745-2010, and delivers warden and extinguisher training on the same trip.

Local knowledge

Tourism, hospitality and schools with bushfire assembly areas

South West sites often need two assembly areas: one for fire and one for bushfire shelter in place. Tourism and hospitality venues host people who have never seen the building, so the You Are Here point and orientation have to be right at every entrance. CMG draws each diagram for its mounting point and makes the bushfire plan clear.

Schools from Bunbury to Margaret River are growing and reconfiguring, and CMG holds the drawings so updates after new buildings or transportables are quick.

Interactive self-check

Is your evacuation diagram still compliant?

Six quick checks based on AS 3745-2010 and what Craig sees most often on WA sites.

Does every diagram have a "You Are Here" point that matches where it is mounted?AS 3745-2010 requires the diagram to be oriented to the viewer's position.

Are all current exits and paths of travel shown, with nothing that no longer exists?Blocked, locked or removed doors are the most common failure.

Is the assembly area shown correctly, including any temporary changes?Construction, transportables and new fencing often move it.

Is every extinguisher, hose reel, blanket and alarm point shown where it actually is?Equipment gets relocated during fit-outs and services.

Has the building changed since the diagram was issued?Extensions, new rooms, demountables or a changed use of space.

Is the diagram legible, with a legend, and mounted at the right height?Faded prints and missing legends are non-compliant.

Answer the six checks above

Takes under a minute. We will tell you plainly whether your diagrams are likely to stand up.

Common questions

Straight answers grounded in AS 3745-2010 and WA workplace legislation. Anything else, call Craig.

Yes. CMG is based in Osborne Park and works across the whole of Western Australia. Bunbury and the South West are covered on scheduled trips, with sites grouped to keep costs down.

Every workplace and facility occupied by people: schools, childcare centres, offices, shops, warehouses, aged care, medical practices, community centres and strata buildings, under AS 3745-2010 and the WHS (General) Regulations 2022.

Most sites are surveyed, drawn and installed within a few weeks, faster where CMG already holds the drawings. Ask Craig for a date that suits your site.

Whenever the building, exits, fire equipment or assembly area change. AS 3745-2010 says the validity period should not exceed five years, so Craig recommends a full review at least every five years. CMG reviews existing diagrams and updates only what needs it.
